A. Markov, A. Hoﬀmann, and O. Creighton identify the problems and their roots. For the interviews we developed (in collaboration with the Coburg university of applied sciences, in the form of joint supervision of a master’s thesis ) a questionnaire based on questions from diﬀerent process improvement methodologies, and a framework for assessing the capability of an organization’s process from the data elicited through the interviews. The framework was based on two dimensions - on the one side, an idealized picture of a Requirements Engineering process, derived from thorough literature study and used to evaluate the organization against, and on the other side a number of hierarchically structured criteria used as indicators to judge the success of the organization’s process by measuring both the process itself as well as it’s observable outcomes.
We used the newly selected tools to create initial goal and feature models and create an initial mapping between them. Then we selected three features from the feature model, which we developed and reﬁned through the entire requirements engineering life-cycle and further until they were mapped to the component family model. This enabled us to introduce suggested changes in a limited way and create an integrated showcase providing a promotional tool for the new approach. 6 Training and Coaching After a pilot is successfully applied, the changes need to be deployed and other people need to adopt them.
